Healing, carried into real places.
From the classroom to the pasture to the neighborhood, our programs bring holistic care to the people and places the world too often overlooks.

Building Bounce · Resiliency for Schools
Helping kids bounce back.
With the world changing so fast, many children face difficulties that even adults aren’t equipped to handle. Building Bounce brings mental-health care into public schools — including kids in underserved communities — and supports their teachers and parents too. This year we had the honor of sharing it in five elementary schools in Kansas City, KS and at the Hope Center in Kansas City, MO.
Through story and play, kids learn skills that build resilience:
- Connection · Quieting · Emotional Regulation
- Body Regulation · Replenishment · Social Skills
- Grit — and Storytelling to tie it all together
“The Building Bounce program provided a space for our students to open up and connect with others who have experienced trauma.”
“Having the Building Bridges–Building Bounce resiliency group at my elementary school was a great experience.”
Equine Applied Learning · Living Life Ranch
Find healing with horses.
Abuse damages trust — and horses, who communicate entirely through body language, model acceptance, tolerance, kindness, patience, forgiveness, and compassion. They read our emotions, and in doing so open doors that words alone cannot. Through interacting with horses, clients build self-awareness, assertiveness, and healthy boundaries, with especially beautiful progress in children.
Our program is certified through Elaine Davis’s Faith-Based Equine-Assisted philosophy, integrating spiritual principles alongside the work at Living Life Ranch. It’s effective for those seeking freedom from trauma and addiction alike.
Meet the team: Melissa Cowan, Founder of Living Life Ranch, and Jayne Hamilton — both Certified Equine Applied Learning and Trauma Recovery facilitators.

New Day Community Program · Addiction & Recovery
Everyone deserves a new beginning.
We believe God created every person special, and that each one deserves a new day when life has been painful. New Day gives holistic care to those struggling with addiction, recovery, and homelessness — housing, counseling, coaching, and peer support — customized to each person’s needs.
Our ethnically diverse team offers many roads to healing: traditional counseling, certified peer support, art and music therapy, health and nutrition, physical fitness, and equine therapy. One method doesn’t fit all; variety gives us a greater chance to help each person succeed.
We do it together, with partners like: Sue’s Safe Haven · KC Dream Center · New Creation · Firm Foundation Ministries · 1/99 · GROW (Grace Restores Overcoming Women). Alone we have limited impact — but together, in unity, we can transform our community.
